Kenneth "Kenny" Ray Lind, 81, died Tuesday 26 May, 2015 at 3:05 pm at his home in Naples. He was born 26 August 1933 in Vernal, son of John Raymond and Goldie Alice Richens Lind. He married Renee Richardson 15 March 1956 in Vernal. They had 3 children Dennis Ray, Darris James, and David K. and later divorced. He married Sheila Evans 25 August, 1966 in Vernal. Their marriage was solemnized 6 July 1977 in the Provo LDS Temple. They had 4 children Steven Louis, Richard Earnest, Loretta, and Camille. Sheila died 3 September 1991. He married Gladys Joan Karren 23 November 1993. Their marriage was solemnized 7 March 1998 in the Vernal LDS Temple. Joan died 16 April 1998. He married Sylvia Martinez 5 September 1998 in Vernal. Kenny was a lumberjack, rancher/farmer, and contractor. He has built and remodeled homes all over the Ashley Valley. His passion was being a lumberjack and talked about this occupation for many years and could point out all of the various native trees of Utah (and some not native, which he worked hard to eradicate, such as the Russian Olive). He loved the mountains, hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Naples 1st Ward where he served in various calling. He was young men basketball and softball coach, provided service to the Boy Scouts fundraising by cutting firewood to sell. He also provided services in construction related projects and provided firewood to widows in the area. He is preceded in death by his brother Farris R. Lind who was killed at the Battle of Samar, Philippines 25 October 1944. Funeral services will be Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at the Naples 1st Ward Chapel. (2313 South 1500 East). Family and friends may call at the Naples Church Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 P.M. and also on Saturday 12:45-1:45 P.M. prior to the services. Burial will be in the Vernal Memorial Park, under the direction of Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
