Kent W Jackson passed away May 15, 2016 at the age of 78 on his Mothers Birthday. He was born on November 1, 1937 to Glenn W. & Bernice Gurr Jackson in Vernal Utah. He married Kathryn Hall Jackson on April 10, 1955, they were married 49 years until she passed away in 2004. They had 6 children and was later sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple in May 1976. He married the love of his life Sara Meeker Schoenberger, Jan 12, 2008, with this he gained 3 more children. At the age of 16 he took a various of jobs to help support his family after his father passed away. Kent had worked in the Gilsonite Mine in Bonanza until 1968. He then started a business with his brother Harley doing drywall work. He worked in Oklahoma for his son Louis and then returning home he began to build houses with Buff Berman, Willis Akelund and Don Johnson. Later on he went to work for his brothers at Jackson Construction in the Oilfield and farming until he finally retired in 2014. He had a love for horses and one "mean" junk yard dog named queen. Kent had many talents and always seemed to have a project he was working on rather it was being a mechanic or working on something around the house he always seemed to be tinkering on something. Kent was always happy no matter what the situation he always had a smile and could turn heads with his contagious laugh. He had a heart of gold most would say once you got to meet him you became a friend for life. Kent is survived by (wife) Sara Jackson, (daughter) DeAnn Childers, (son) Louis, Lisa Jackson, (daughter)Jackie Gustaveson, (daughter)Arley, Jim Mora, (son) Shawn, January Jackson, (son) Justin, Melinda Jackson, (son) Joe, Mandy Schoenberger, (daughter) Melody, Tyler Gunmundsen, (sister)Marnell Rowley, (sister) Glenna, Buck Hall, (brother)Lane, Joyce Jackson, (brother) Harley D Jackson, (brother) Danny, Louise Jackson, (brother) Randy, Becky Jackson along with many grandchildren and one great-great grandson, (very special family) The Valencia's. Funeral Services, Friday May 20, 2016 at Maeser LDS Stake Center at 11:00 am (2745 West 1000 North) Friends and Family may call Thursday 6-8 pm at the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary and Friday at the church from 9:45-10:45 prior to services. Burial will be in the Dry Fork Cemetery, under the direction of the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
