Kim Joseph Spendlove passed away July 15, 2024 in his home surrounded by family. He was born August 28, 1947 to Dr. Ray Spendlove and Helen Johnson in Vernal, UT.
Kim Graduated from BYU with a degree in Psychology and served in the Army.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Kim was a well head specialist in the oilfield for many years. After his retirement he always had a project. He enjoyed tinkering, inventing, reloading bullets, shooting guns at the range, woodworking, star gazing, finding rocks, bird watching, taking pictures of grandkids and doing arts and crafts with them. He loved spending time with his family. He was the best husband, dad, and grandpa (Bompie).
He is survived by his wife Carolyn Mary Spendlove, children; Tara Valynne (Pete) Lemos, Beau Spendlove, Michael (Jessica) Spendlove, Mary (AJ) Schleitwiler, grandchildren; Raeven J.C. Spendlove, Jaxsen Yazzie, Lindsay Kim Lemos, Gabriel Beau Spendlove, MaCee Yazzie, Landon Ray Heliton Lemos, Leila Zina Lemos, Penelopy Spendlove, Maxwell James Schleitwiler, and Walker Ryan Schleitwiler, 1 great granddaughter Blakeleigh Rowen Betts, brother Brian (Anita) Spendlove, sister Valynne (Mike) Schaefermeyer.
He is preceded in death by his parents Dr. Ray and Helen Spendlove, and sister Leslie Williams.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, July 20, 2024 at 2 PM at the Vernal Stake Center (850 W 100 N) with viewings held Friday, July 19th from 6-8 pm at the Blackburn Mortuary and Saturday 1 hour prior to service at the Chapel.
Interment will take place at the Vernal Memorial Park with Military Honors by the American Legion.
