L. W. "Red" Hunnicutt was born October 28, 1922 in Manassa, Colorado. He passed away peacefully on December 19, 2012, after several days with his children bedside. Red joined Chevron Oil in 1947. In 1952 he married Mary Greenup Fritz and they moved to Rangely, divorcing in 1966. After his retirement from Chevron in 1988, he continued his involvement with the oil field community, running Continental Supply until his hospitalization in December 2009. An avid trapper, hunter, fisherman, and collector, Red spent many happy hours in the outdoors. He recently celebrated his 30th birthday of sobriety and frequently spoke in support of substance abuse prevention. Red was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Irah and DeIaon, and very special friends Jim DeWitt and Kathy Perry. He is survived by his children Margy (Michael) Davey of Oshkosh, WI; Norman (Roseann) Hunnicutt of Milwaukee; and Joey (Bill) Jordan of Rough & Ready, CA. He is further survived by grandchildren Mark (KatieJean) Davey of Eagan, MN; Melody (Geoff) Gerrits of Appleton, WI; Alisa Hunnicutt and Chad Terranova of Milwaukee; niece Carol (Phil) Love of Denver; and longtime friend Walt Ducey.
