Linda Barber

Our loving Mother and Nana, Linda K Barber Passed away peacefully in her home on January 5, 2013 after a courageous Battle with Breast Cancer. Linda was born in Emporia, Kansas on March 26, 1949 to Francis Roland and Betty Chapman Brown. She graduated from Highland High School in 1967 in Topeka. Linda then completed and graduated from Beauty School in Topeka. She met the love of her life Lynn A. Barber. They were married on Dec. 20, 1969. They later moved to Craig Colorado in 1972. Linda and Lynn then started their family with Kassandra Barber in 1979 and then 6 years later came Casey Jo in 1985. After Casey was born she moved the family to Browns Park to be with Lynn & later moved to Vernal with Lynn and the girls in July of 1991. Linda worked for 20 years for the Uintah School District in the Kitchen and as a Sweeper. She made many friends while working for them. She was a friend to all that she met. She was greatly loved by her husband, daughters, and grandchildren and also any of the friends of the girls that called her Mom as well. Linda is preceded in death by her loving husband Lynn and her parents. Linda is survived by her loving two daughters Kassandra & Yancy Sharp, and Casey and Jon Thomas. She is also survived by her Grandchildren Kaitlyn, Karstyn, Deedra, Melonie Sharp, Rylee and Kyleigh Pohl, and Casen, Jaden, and Sadie Thomas. Linda is also survived by her siblings Phyllis (Kenny) Wilkes and Mike Brown. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 11 am at the Maeser 3rd Ward Chapel at 2575 N 1500 W with visitation to family one hour prior. Services will be under the direction of Vernal Blackburn Mortuary.
