Linna Adams Bratton, 93, died peacefully Friday the 8th January, 2016 in her daughter's home in Vernal, Utah. She was born Oct. 7, 1922 in Nashville, TN to the late Thomas Heywood Adams and Irene Cora Adams. She married Clarence Russell "Russ" Bratton, Jr. in Nashville, TN on Dec. 4, 1945. She was predeceased in death by her parents, her sister, Cliffadean, and her husband. She is survived by her children, Steve and Susan (Mansfield), both of Vernal, Utah, her grandchildren Katharine, Heather and Eric, and six great-grandchildren. She and Russ raised their children in Brigham City, Utah. Linna was always careful to teach them the proper Southern way of doing things, especially when it came to manners and food. While there, she loved her bridge group and volunteering at the local nursing home. She enjoyed working as an IRS tax examiner for more than twenty years. She was thrilled when she and her husband were able to retire to Goodlettsville, Tennessee. She volunteered at Madison Memorial Hospital and Skyline Hospital as a Pink Lady for over 20 years. She loved working with the other volunteers, greeting the patients, carrying gifts to the patients' rooms and answering the phone giving patient information. She enjoyed reading and playing games on the computer. She faithfully attended Connell Memorial United Methodist Church in Goodlettsville. In 2009, she was invited into the home of her daughter who lovingly cared for her, just as Linna had cared for her own mother years before. For the last year and a half, the light of her life was her little great-grandson, Henry, who spent his days at home with her and Susan. They were best buds. She will be missed dearly by her grandchildren and their spouses who wearied her with teasing and who loved how she teased them back. Funeral services and burial were held in Goodlettsville, Tennessee.
