Madge K Fillingim, of Vernal, Ut, died January 8, 2023 at her home surrounded by her closest family.
She was born July 7, 1920 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was the Eldest of seven siblings. She was married in 1940 to her late husband Kimbal David Fillingim.
Madge resided for 50 years in Pensacola, FL with her loving family of five. Madge then retired in the Uintah Basin raising her granddaughter West Velyn Snipes, along with her husband and daughter Brenda Snipes.
Madge is survived by her son David Fillingim, her daughter Brenda Snipes, and her granddaughter West Velyn Snipes. Her other surviving family members are Chad Fillingim, Tara Robinson, Jae Bevin Murphy, and Chez Harlow. Madge was greeted in death by her daughter Tamara Kay Murphy.
Madge loved sewing, knitting, bowling, and playing card games. Madge was a talented cook and enjoyed cooking all “the southern classics”. Her specialty was fried chicken, gumbo, banana cream pie, and fried fish on Fridays.
Made was an extraordinary mother, wife, and grandmother. Madge loved her family very much and was always considered the corner stone of the family. She will be deeply missed by everyone that knew her and her lifelong motto was “Don’t ever give up”.
A family graveside service will be held in the Lapoint Cemetery, under the direction of Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
