Marcy Shavonne Roper, age 44, was born in Vernal, Utah on July 17th, 1980, to Sandra Lee Westwood and Stephen Ray Westwood. She passed away April 12, 2025 in Murray, Utah surrounded by family. She shared a birthday with her grandma Edith, whom she was close with. She married the love of her life, David William Roper, on August 5th, 2000. They had 3 children together.
Marcy was a strong-willed and devoted woman. She was very spiritual and you could often find her grounding herself in nature. She often took her dogs to the mountains and lake. She was very skilled and a go-getter, holding many certificates such as her Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), a real estate license, and her certificate in neuro-linguistic programming (NLP). She was a thoughtful and selfless woman, often volunteering for the special olympics.
She enjoyed many hobbies like gardening with her children, reading, and photography. She was especially skilled in fire dancing and belly dancing. She enjoyed travel, hiking, and decorating her home. She loved to shop for herself and others, often surprising those she loved with gifts. She loved being in water and celebrated her 44th birthday in Cancun, Mexico.
She loved steampunk, gothic, witchy and overall dark themes. She had many commissioned portraits of her and her beloved Great Dane, Gerti, who was born on her wedding anniversary. She owned many pets throughout her life including, but not limited to, her iguana; Persia, her rat; Socrates, her tortoise; Wilbur, and her dogs. Her lucky number was 47.
She is survived by her parents; Sandra Lee Westwood and Stephen Ray Westwood, her husband; David Roper, her children; Dustin John Hirschi, Ryan David Roper, Zoey Edith Lee Roper, her siblings; Charles Westwood, Sophie Westwood, Quinn Westwood.
She is preceded in death by her grandma Edith Harmston, her uncles; Jimmy Westwood and Ronnie Jay Westwood, her brother Stephen “Bucky” Westwood, her aunt Susan Smuin, and her beloved Great Danes; Gertchen “Gerti” and Sire.
Marcy did not wish to have any services. She will be cremated and ashes will be buried in her special spot in the forest.
