Mark Granado passed away Friday, November 7, 2014 in Vernal, Utah. He was born to Vincent & Della Granado in Rock Springs, Wyoming, March 27,1957. Mark worked various jobs starting at a very young age, cooking at the Skillet Cafe in Vernal then moving into the oilfield, roughnecking for different Drilling and Well Service Companies. He enjoyed working several years for Gudac Well Service. Markʼs last job was at Weldon Construction, working for George and Brett Weldon in Rangely, Colorado. He loved to sit on the back porch and watch the sunset. He said "The best part of living here are the sunsets" and commented on the beautiful sunset the night before he passed. He enjoyed teasing and joking with everyone he knew and even those he didn't know. A stranger to Mark was just a friend he hadn't met yet. He enjoyed cutting firewood and being in the outdoors and on the mountain. He loved to get together for family gatherings and BBQ's and to cook for his family. His speciality was his famous Pork Chile Verde and tortillas. Mark is proceeded in death by his parents, Vincent Granado and Della Granado, brothers, Joseph B. Martinez and Alex Martinez. He is survived by his children Jennifer (Jason) Jones, Arlington TX, Taryn (David) Cox, SLC UT, Mark James Granado, New Orleans, LA, Vincent Chase Granado, and Jasmine Rain Granado both of Vernal, and Step-daughter Audrey Brooking, Austin, TX, and 7 grandchildren. Siblings, Emily (Rolland) Grover, Ballard, UT, Charlotte Shope, Vernal, Robert (Susan) Martinez, South Jordan, UT, Junior, (Shelly) Martinez, Vernal, Ramona Massey, Vernal, and multiple nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mark Granado will be held Thursday November 13, 2014 at 11 am at the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary. Friends may call Wednesday 6-8 pm at the Mortuary and Thursday 10 am Burial will be in the Vernal Memorial Park.
