Matthew Foley

Matthew Robert Foley, age 92 - died Oct 27, 2015. Born Feb 11 1923 in Ogden Utah to John Joseph Foley and Selina Maude Wills, Matthew was preceded in death by both parents and his three sisters; Norma, Dorthy, Donna and his wife Virginia. Matthew served in the Navy in WWII on the USS North Carolina. Matthew married Virginia Ruth Hancock in the Logan LDS Temple, July 19, 1946. They are the parents of 5 children, Kenny Rae, deceased age 1 1/2, Robert Lynn Foley (Laura), Keith Michael Foley (AlJean), Diane Louise Spackman (Dennis) and Mark Douglas Foley (Judy) all of Vernal. Matthew was active in the LDS church, served an LDS employment mission with his wife Virginia, he loved his assignment of the church cattle project in Vernal, he was in charge of salvaging the bricks from the Meagher home for use on the Vernal LDS Temple. He also served a number of years on the Vernal City council, and the Uintah School Board. He later served many years as a Temple worker at the Vernal LDS Temple and loved his association with his fellow workers from the entire basin. Funeral services for Matthew Robert Foley, age 92, of Vernal will be Monday November 2, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Vernal LDS Stake Center (100 North 850 West) Friends and family may call Sunday evening from 6-8 at the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary and from 9:45-10:45 prior to the services at the Church. Burial will be in the Roosevelt Cemetery at 2:30 with military Honors by the Roosevelt American Legion post 64, Services are entrusted to the care of the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
