February 20, 1921 ~ February 18, 2021

Our loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed from this life February 18, 2021 just 2 days before her 100th Birthday.  She was born February 20th 1921 in Ashley Valley, Vernal, Utah to Thomas Edward and Mary Louise Bowes Kidd. She was the 4th of 11 Children with only 2 surviving sisters. She married Lawrence York and they had 4 children, after his passing she married C. Dean Powell. Mavis enjoyed gardening, crafts and quilting. 

She is survived by her children; Carol Robbins of Nibley, Utah; Sherman (Lana) York of La Vegas; Phillip (Mi Chu) York of Englewood, WA; sisters, Doreen Norman of Vernal, Utah; Joy Short of Idaho and Texas; 10 grandchildren an 24 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence York; Husband, C. Dean Powell; son, Lawrence June York

Burial for Mavis will be Wednesday, February 24, 2021 in the Vernal Memorial Park. A viewing will be at Blackburn Vernal Mortuary from 10-11a.m. prior to traveling to Cemetery.
