Max Charles Kunz was born on March 14, 1926 in Clinton, Illinois. He grew up the only child of George and grace Kunz. Max grew up in Clinton. At the age of 19 he joined the Army and served during WWII. After the war he remained and served in occupied Germany. During this time he met Irmgard and after his discharge from the army in 1952 he went to Canada to reunite with Irma, who had immigrated to Canada to be with her family. They were married November 5, 1952. Later they moved to the US and eventually made their home in Vernal. After a lengthy illness Max passed away December 14, 2013 at his home in Naples. He was preceded in death by his mother in 1974 and his father in 1988. Max leaves to morn his passing his wife of 61 years, many nieces and nephews and many friends. Funeral services will be Thursday, December 19, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the first Baptist Church (West Hwy 40) friends and family may call one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Maeser Fairview Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the American Legion Post 11 and the Utah National guard. Services have been entrusted to the care of Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
