Maxine McConkie

Maxine Lynn Stott McConkie, returned to our loving Heavenly Father June 24th 2012, with family by her side at home. Maxine was born March 22 1955 in Ogden Utah to Max & Marion Stott. She grew up in Green River Utah before making Vernal Utah her home in 1973. She married & later divorced Nathan Moon and had three wonderful children with Nathan; Chris, Tresa, & Michelle. She married her one true everlasting love Terry Lynn McConkie of Vernal November 25th 1983. She had two children with Terry; Tara and Travis. Maxine was a very crafty woman great at many things. She enjoyed toll painting, wood working, cross stitching, sewing, quilting and puzzles. She was a familiar face to all craft shows in Vernal and surrounding areas ranging from Grand junction Colorado to Green River Utah . She was on a local bowling league for many years until could no longer bowl. She worked as a mother most her life but did spent many years at 5 buck pizza & walmart. She enjoyed cooking and trying to teach her children how to cook. She was especially good at making all sorts of candy and treats. She enjoyed having animals around the house especially her pug Putts. Above all she enjoyed being a mother of five, grandmother of 14 & great grandma of 1. She was always there for advice or a tender hug or stern discipline. She never missed a birthday or holiday even if it meant only sending a card filled with love. She spent many hours working in the yard, she had a love of flowers, particularly roses, lilac & carnations. While she is no longer suffering and enjoying heaven with her soul mate & husband, she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Maxine truly was a beautiful strong soul. She is preceded in death by husband, Terry McConkie, Max Stott, father and many other close relatives. She is survived by Marion Stott Cribbey, mother children: Chris (Caroline) Moon, Michelle (Jose) Tarango, Tresa (Robby) Lance, Tara (Shon) Stubbs, Travis (Ashley) McConkie, 2 sisters, 2 brothers, 14 grandkids, 1 great grand child. In lieu of flowers, the family would like any donations be made directly to Blackburn Mortuary under her name. Funeral will be held at Blackburn mortuary on June 28th 2012 at 11am with a viewing from 6-8pm the night before.
