Morris Anderson

Morris E. Anderson, 89, long-time resident of LaPoint, died December 10, 2013 at the Uintah Care Center in Vernal. Morris was born February 11, 1924 in Fairview, Utah to J.C. and Roena (Day) Anderson. He grew up on the family ranch in McKinnon, Wyoming and graduated from Green River High School. He enlisted in the Navy and became an electronics technician on the ship USS Fall River during WWII. He married Colleen Killian on June 12, 1948. They had two daughters Moreen (Wayne) Henderson and Brenda (Darryl) Cadwallader. After many years of ranching in McKinnon, Morris went to work for Mountain Fuel Supply Co. (Questar) and worked for them for 24 years. He retired in 1985 as a measurement and control technician. Upon his retirement he rode for cows for Dave Jenkins and Dean Clerico for the next 13 years. Morris loved his family and friends, his place and his horses. He raised and trained paint and quarter horses. Morris is survived by his wife, Colleen; daughters, Moreen and Brenda and their husbands Wayne and Darryl; Sisters Beverly (Clair) Terry and Cheri (Vic) Bodily, Grandchildren, Lance (Julie) Henderson, Tommy (Billie) Henderson, Carrie (Jeremy) Olsen, Marty Cadwallader, and Grant (Jaime) Cadwallader; Great Grandchildren; Travis, Tyrell, Melanie, Ty and Garrett Henderson, Kolby and Olivia Olsen, Brett, Aubrey, and Tug Morris Cadwallader, and Dear Friends Dean, Renita, Vanessa, Dylon, and Carson Clerico and Brenda Lemon. He was preceded in death by his parents, J.C. and Roena Anderson, and brothers; Chester, Kent, Alan, Keith and Lloyd Anderson. Morris was a hard-working, honest, gentle man, a devoted husband and father, and was known for his horsemanship. Memorial service will be Monday, December 16, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary. Friends and family may call at the mortuary one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Tridell Cemetery, with Military Honors provided by American Legion Post 11, services have been entrusted to the care of Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
