November 4, 1926 ~ June 28, 2014 Olen Florence Atwood Heddleson, age 87, dedicated wife, loving mother, and devoted grandma, passed away at her home surrounded by her loved ones June 28, 2014. Olen was born November 4, 1926 in Vernal, Utah to Alonzo Joseph and Hazel Winnie Robbins Atwood. Olen married Pete Heddleson February 24, 1962 in Craig, CO. Pete help raise her 4 children from their children they had many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren who loved and adored them. Pete and Olen shared over 52 years of marriage, and are now together again. Mom truly loved her brothers and sisters, and especially enjoyed "Club Day" with "The Golden Girls" on Thursday right up until this last May. She loved camping, her family reunions, working in her yard, playing cards with her sisters and brothers, and visiting with her family and friends. Memorial Day was Mom's favorite Holiday. She enjoyed making flowers arrangements and decorating all of her many families' graves. Mom's greatest delights in life was her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren whom she totally enjoyed. Grandma was their rock and they could tell her anything and she loved them unconditionally. She is preceded in death by her husband; C.M. Heddleson; Parents, mother-in-law; Granny Heddleson, sisters, Stella Boren, Venus Workman and Madge Briese, brother; Cap Atwood, sons; Wesley Heddleson and Tom Workman. 2 infant daughters, grandsons; Charles Robert McGovern, Coulson Alan Rich, 1 infant grandson. She is survived by her children, Georgia (Bill) Roush, Terry (Joyce) McGovern, and Glenda (Alan) Rich all of Vernal, Utah; sisters; Melba Pierce, Wanda Lopez of Vernal, Utah; brothers, Tom Atwood of AZ; Blain Atwood of Vernal, Utah. Our mom and grandma was the center of our family and her home was our gathering place. We love and adore her and miss spoiling her. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Davis LDS Ward Chapel (1500 East 4000 South). Friends and family may call at the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary Tuesday evening from 6-8 and at the Chapel from 9:45 until 10:45 prior to the services at the Church.
