Ralph LaVon McConkie, age 76, born to Ray Lavon and Chole Maria McConkie January 8, 1940. He married Barbara K. Burton on February 4, 1959 in Salt Lake City, Their marriage was later solemnized on March 30, 1967 in the Salt Lake City Temple. Ralph served in several positions in the church, he especially like working with the young men. Ralph joined the Navy in 1962, when he returned home, they made their home in Vernal. Ralph worked several jobs and then settled into the Coke A Cola Bottling Co. He worked there for 27 years. He then spent a few years with C & H Distributing, where he sustained a work injury and was disabled. Ralph was a good Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather and Brother, he loved spending time with his family. Together they enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and hauling firewood for the winter. Our Father also taught us hard work, discipline, and respect for each other, and other, and especially our Heavenly Father. He will be sorely missed, but never forgotten. He was loved dearly by Family and many friends. Ralph is survived by his wife Barbara of 57 years; daughters, Leasa Ray (Dee) Perry; Tearsa Marie (Sam) Tadlock; son, David Lavon (Wyn) McConkie; 5 grandchildren, Andee Petty, Amanda Warne, Sammy Tadlock, Whitney Lathem, Haily McConkie. 9 Great Grandchildren, Hagen, Emmee, Elliot, Mia, Savanah, Corbin, Casin, Cooper, Sydney. 2 sisters, Beth (Frank) Savage of Orem Utah, Lela Hildreth of Lewiston, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Laura (Jack) Pace, Ellen (Alma) Jones, Mary Louise (infant). Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary. A viewing for family and friends will be at the Mortuary one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Maeser Fairview Cemetery, Where he will buried with be next to his parents and infant daughter. Military Honors by the American Legion and Utah National Guard. Under the direction of Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
