Our father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend Raymond Arthur Gilley passed away April 14, 2014. Born in Salt Lake City on October 28, 1937 to Ernest Newton Gilley and Alice Ann Green, Ray was the second of 5 children. Ray attended West High School and was active in the marching band and later played in the Post Office marching band. Ray Married Darlene Elliot, had 6 children then later divorced. In 1964 he married Marcile White, had 2 children and divorced 25 years later. Ray was a member of the LDS Church and enjoyed many callings, especially working with the Scouting program. Ray worked in construction and was a skilled craftsman, and always worked hard to provide for his family. He enjoyed gardening, camping, hunting and fishing with his friends and family. He was the first to offer a hand to someone in need. Ray had many health challenges in his life. With each challenge he worked hard to overcome and find a new path for his life to take. His patience, character and good spirit will be missed by many. Ray is survived by his children Eugene (Pat), RaeLene, Doug (Rakeyl), Brenda (Bob), Brent (Linda), Traci (Kurtis) and Troy; 25 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Also siblings Margie (Dale) Christiansen, Donald (Alice) Gilley, Thomas, Nancy (Terry) Brunstad. He is preceded in death by his parents, and infant son Scott. Funeral services are pending for Friday, April 18, 2014. A viewing will be at the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary, Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. Burial will be in The Farmington Cemetery, services have been entrusted to the care of Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
