Raymond Dean Oaks, 67, of Vernal, was called home to our Heavenly Father, on Friday, January 21, 2022. He passed away suddenly at his Vernal home, surrounded by his family. Raymond was born on December 28, 1954, to Arvel Oaks and Elaine Oliver.

He loved the outdoors and would often take his family out camping, fishing, boating, and hiking. He lived and strived to provide for his family. He was always such a hard worker, even at a young age. He enjoyed driving trucks and did that for a living for the majority of his life. He loved being a Grandpa and getting to spend time with his kids and his 17 grand babies, and he was looking forward to welcoming his 18th grand baby (August 2022), and his first great-grand baby (May 2022). He enjoyed teasing them and watching them grow and learn. He was a quiet man with a big personality, and an even bigger sense of humor. He loved pulling pranks, teasing around, and making everyone around him laugh.
Raymond married the love of his life, Jaylene Slaugh, on July 13,1990. They have been married for 31 years. Raymond is preceded in death by his father, Arvel Oaks; brother, Ronnie Oaks; sister, Linda Cranford; and grand-daughters, Gracie Mae Stewart and Kinslee Heaven Oaks.
He is survived by his wife, Jaylene Slaugh Oaks; children, Jeramy Oaks of Vernal, JR (Sylvana) Sorrells of Ocean Park, WA., Quentin Oaks of Vernal, Nathan (Courtney) Oaks of Vernal, Angela Kelsey (Eric Wilcock) of Vernal, Sara (David) Antillon of Vernal, Kisha Oaks of Vernal, and Mandy (Seth) Stewart of Vernal; Mother Elaine (Larry) Jackson; Sisters, Eileen (Gene) Harvey of Tridell, Charlene (Rusty) McBride of Salt Lake, and Gloria (Jim) Allan of Vernal; grandchildren, Cameron (Kennedy) Oaks; Carson Oaks; Ashlynn Oaks; Shyanne Oaks; Whitnee Oaks; Tessa Oaks; Harper Oaks; McKenna Oaks; Jacelynn Oaks; RyLee Oaks; Dalton Stewart; Jayden Kelsey; Jaxon Wilcock; Maggie Antillon; Haylee Allred; Brooklynn Allred; Alekiah Antillon; and baby Stewart (due in August, 2022); and great-grandbaby Oaks (due in May, 2022)

Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, January 28, 2022 at 11 AM in the Davis Ward Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (3990 South 1500 East).
A viewing will be Held Thursday at the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary from 6-8 PM and again Friday 9:45-10:45 at the Church. Burial will follow.
Services are entrusted to the care of Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
