Richard Earl Broome, age 93, passed away peacefully at his home with his loving family beside him. He was born January 29, 1921 in Myton, Utah to Marvin and Doris Hollenbeck Broome. He served his country in the US Army and was honorable discharged in 1945. He loved horses; he took many packing trips to Trappers Lake fishing, hunting and camping with family and friends and loved the outdoors. He lived in Rangely and work for Chevron retiring as a well inspector. He spent a few winters in Quartz Site, Arizona during his early years of retirement before staying put in Vernal. He is survived by his wife Viola Southam Broome. Daughters: Linda Eaton, Sharon Rodriquez and Beckie Smith. Sister: Russie Gardner, 13 Grandchildren and 22 Great grandchildren He was preceded in death by a son Jerry Eaton. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Davis 2nd LDS Ward Chapel. Friends and family may call at the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary, Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. and at the Church one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Vernal Memorial Park.
