Robert Wayne Berrett was born August 9th 1930 in Park City Utah to George Albert Berrett and Etta Alice Walke. He was the youngest in a family of 8 children. Robert grew up on a ranch in the Altonah Utah area. He loved riding his horse into the high mountains to herd the cattle. Robert married his childhood sweetheart Phyllis on September 8, 1950 and later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on September 28,1950. Robert and Phyllis came to Rangely in July of 1951 to work for Moon Lake Electric. Within a few years he was hired by Chevron and he worked for 30 years for the company. Robert enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping with his precious family. He loved wild horse chasing and cutting fire wood with an axe. In his early years he and his wife enjoyed playing music in a band. Robert played the drums and Phyllis the piano. As his children grew older they had a family band and Robert played the guitar. He held many callings in the LDS church such as Bishop, Bishop's Counselor, High Councilman and Mission Leader. He spent many hours driving the youth and the missionaries around the stake and region. He and his wife were always so willing to contribute financial support to the missionary program of the church. He spent countless hours working on the church farm in Rangely. He was a key factor in obtaining the funds to build the Rangely Ward Chapel Robert is survived by his wife Phyllis of 66 years. Daughter Vicki (Jeff) Jensen of Littlefield Arizona, Son Mark (Pamela) Berrett Rangely, Daughter Sherree (Les) Andersen of Pinedale Wyoming, Son Baylen (Carisa) Berrett Rifle Colorado. 14 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, siblings, and 2 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Monday March 27 2017 at 11 am in the Rangely LDS Chapel family will greet friends prior to services Burial in the Rangely Cemetery.
