Sammie Elzie Beasley, age 75 of Vernal, passed away February 5, 2012 at his home with his family by his side. Sam was born June 20, 1936 in Eldorado, Kansas to Oliver and Ollie Reed Beasley. He married Rose Mary Boothman and they had six children together. Sam worked as a truck driver and was retired. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and his grandchildren. Sam is survived by his wife; Rose Mary, children; Tammy (Earnie) Mulvaney of Illinois, Jim (Susan) Beasley of Utah, De De (Rick) Wise of Washington, Sam (Shirley) Beasley of Utah, Steve (Mindy) Beasley of Utah, and Jeff (Adrianne) Beasley of Idaho, 25 grandchildren; Jeremey, Leigh, James, Josh, Marcy, Steven, Jeremy, Britnie, Brandie, Amanda, Janessa, Cathy, Justin, Daniel, Lacey, Kaylee, Travis, Konrad, Travis, Ramsey, Tiffany, Shantelle, Shilah, Phillip, Mathew, and 20 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother and three sisters. There will be a celebration of life for Sammie on Thursday, February 9, 2012 from 3-5 p.m. at Sam and Rose Mary's home in Vernal (2037 North 250 West). The family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to Dr. Shirtliff and Good Shepherd Hospice. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
