Sarah Helen Harvey Simmons was born in Tridell, Utah on September 16, 1921 to James B. and Ethel Diantha Glines Harvey. She passed away at her home on November 19, 2020 at her home in Tridell at the age of 99.
Her mother died when she was sixteen years old and so she had to be a mother to her younger brothers and sisters; Burtrum, Jay, Dennis, Orson, Wallace, George, Harvey, Zona and Elma.
She married Farrell M. Simmons when she was nineteen on December 11, 1939 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. She then became a mother to her own children, four girls and six boys.
Over the years she and Farrell raised many gardens and worked together on the farm. She has bottled many fruits and vegetables to help sustain her family. She also has sewn many dresses, shirts, clothes, and quilts. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served many years in the Relief Society and Primary. She was the ward librarian for nine years. She orked on her genealogy and histories, and did the ordinances for the dead at the Provo and Vernal Temples. She put together scrapbooks with family sheets and pictures. She has always encouraged her family to be faithful and gain a testimony of the Gospel.
She was always kind and loving to all, especially to her family and friends, and loved to hold the new babies.
She has always been a true example of a follower and love for Christ.
She is survived by her children; Peggy (Richard) Perry, Farrell (Beth) Simmons, Gary (Susan) Simmons, Margie Ann (Glen) Gardner, Richard (Rossa) Simmons, Aaron (Helen) Simmons, Louis (Diane) Simmons, Susan (Dennis) Clark, Arnold (Janet) Simmons, and Beverly (Bennie) Scholes, 52 grandchildren, 176 great grandchildren, and 40 great-great grandchildren.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, husband; Farrell, son: Gary Simmons, granddaughters; Pauline Simmons and Sarah Aleen Clark, and grandson; James Ferrell Perry.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at 11:00 am at the Tridell Cemetery with a viewing Monday evening from 5-7 at the Blackburn Mortuary.
Services are entrusted to the care of the Blackburn and Sons Mortuary and Cremation Care.
