Lewis Sheldon Galley passed away on May 1, 2016 surrounded by his loved ones. Sheldon was born March 31, 1928 in Vernal, Utah to Peter Leon Galley and Alice Nancy Dickson. He married Ellen Burns on Oct. 5, 1951, together they had 8 children. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many callings. The two most important things in his life were his membership in the church and his family. He loved spending time with his large family. He served in the US Army and was stationed in Korea. He worked for Searle Gas/SavOn Propane for 50 years before retiring at the age of 70. Many people will remember him from his tilling which he also loved to do. He is survived by his wife Ellen, children Rod Galley, Deanna (Alan) Watkins, Gleneita Lane, Rhonda (Gary) Gardiner, Michele (Brad) Montgomery, Gary (Tara) Galley, Marcie (Randy) Shafer, Chad (Marcie) Galley. Brothers and sisters, Leona Rushing, Dale Galley, Kaye (Pierre) Johnson, Dallas Galley, Erva Harris. He has 32 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren. He is proceeded in death by his parents, Peter Leon Galley, Alice Nancy Dickson Galley, brother Sharrell Galley, sister Dorlene Brown, grandson Jace Gardiner, daughter in law Cheryl Wellman Galley, son in law Michael Lane. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 7, 2016 11:00 A.M. at the Vernal Utah LDS Stake Center, (850 West 100 North, Vernal, Utah). A viewing will be held on Friday May 6, 2016 at the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. and on Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45A.M. Prior to the services at the Stake Center.
