Shelly Lorraine Rock

Shelly Lorraine Rock went to be with our Heavenly Father on Thursday, January 30th 2025, at the age of 66.

Shelly was born On December 23rd, 1958 in Glendive, Montana to Duane and Mary Johnson. She moved to Vernal in 1977. There she met the love of her life, Jim Rock. They were married in 1979, after dating six short months. They laid down their roots in Vernal, making it their forever home. They went on to have two daughters, Sara and Beth, always providing a space of love, joy, and safety. Shelly and Jim were married for 45 wonderful years.

Shelly was an amazing wife, mother, friend, and granny. She found joy in gardening and could be found outside watering or planting her flowers. She loved to camp and spend time during the summer in Dubois, Wyoming at her brother’s cabin with her family. Shelly’s biggest joy in her life was spending time with her family and grandkids. She was a spoiler and could be talked into just about anything when it came to something her grandchildren wanted or needed. Shelly was the most selfless human, always giving everything she could. She was kind, generous, and accepting. She loved fiercely and always protected the ones she loved. She was her family’s biggest cheerleader, supporting them in everything they did with her unwavering love. Shelly’s passing will leave a gaping hole in the hearts of her loved ones. 

Shelly is survived by her loving husband, Jim Rock, her two daughters, Sara and Beth, Her grandchildren, Taylor, Gavyn, Nixon, and Clara, Her brothers, Brad and Jamie Johnson, her brother-in-law, Joe Terech, and her sister-in-law, Mary Coulter. 

Shelly Is preceded in death by her parents, Duane And Mary Johnson, her sister, Debbie Terech, And her nephew’s, Todd and Randy Smith.

What a glorious reunion in Heaven it must have been.
