Shirley Watkins

Shirley Watkins age 88, of Vernal passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family.  He was born December 27, 1930 in Vernal to Lorenzo and Jenny Marie Kolb Watkins.

He married Delma Buist August 26, 1950 in Vernal, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple Shirley was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where he enjoyed and was dedicated to serving as a High Priest. He enjoyed the Basin Life; he worked at Bonanza Mine, & Uintah County Road Department. He always enjoyed running heavy equipment and his farm.

Through out his life he loved being on the mountain hunting, camping, fishing and spending time in his Cabin

Looking for wildlife riding his side by side.

Of all the things Shirley loved his family was the most important to him enjoying his children and grandchildren brought great satisfaction to him.

Shirley is survived by his wife Delma; Children, Linda (Buck) Rowe; Alan (Deanna) Watkins; Wayne ”Skinny” (Ellen) Watkins

11 Grandchildren 32 Great Grandchildren and 5 Great Great-Grandchildren; Sisters, Bessie Owens and Winona Walker.

Preceded in death by his  Parents; siblings Marie Smuin, Delora Burke, Juanita Ellsworth, Flora Watkins, Gladys Barker, Howard Watkins, Norma Evans, and DeLaine Dahlberg

Funeral services will be conducted Monday December 2, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the Davis 4th Ward LDS Chapel. A viewing will be held in his honor Sunday evening 6-8 at the Blackburn and Sons Vernal Mortuary and Monday at the church 9:45-10:45 Burial will be in the Vernal Memorial Park, Under the care and direction of the Blackburn & Sons Vernal Mortuary & Cremation Care
