Shirley Wilkins, 86, died on Sunday, October 14, 2018, at the Utah Valley Medical Center in Provo, of complications due to a stroke.
She was born November 3rd, 1931, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Eugene and Mildred Weyer, where she was raised with her brother Ron.
She married Floyd (Tobe) Wilkins on January 21, 1951 in Jensen and lived most of her adult life in Vernal, where she was a public-school teacher, member of Kingsbury United Church of Christ, and active in Girl Scouts and the Vernal Business and Professional Women’s group.
The highlights of her life were her family, students, church and community service.
She is survived by her 3 children: Gary (Nada) Wilkins, Spanish Fork; Wendy (Lyle) Karren, Vernal; and Marcie Wilkins, Vernal. She has 6 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren; and 1 very special cat, Jake.
She is preceded in death by her husband, brother and parents.
A viewing will be held at Blackburn & Sons Mortuary on November 2nd from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, with funeral services at Kingsbury UCC on November 3rd at 11:00 am preceded with a viewing there from 9:45 to 10:45 am. Cremation Care is under the direction of Blackburn & Sons Vernal Mortuary. Compassionate services under the care of Kingsbury United Church of Christ.
