March 5, 1969 was more exciting than any Christmas that ever happened in the Broome family.
Cleo and Bob and Gary and Brenda were so happy to welcome to their new baby Tonya Broome to their family.
Everyone knew how much the wanted this baby... there was a baby shower and there was over 40 dresses... all yellow!!
Tinya was a beautiful lady with all the family attention on her,She was the first to admit that she was spoiled rotten. She was loved unconditionally.
Tonya grew up loving her dog, Badger and her horse Stoney.She grew into a good cowgirl with natural horse skills. She was one of Rangely's youngest Rodeo Queens.
Tonya Loved basketball and grew into a excellent point guard with 3 point skills that she passed along to her boys and nephews. Tonya was on the varsity basketball team as a freshman in Wyoming where the crowd would yell SWISH whenever the ball was in Tonya's hands. She move to Vernal and was a varsity player for the rest of her high school years at Uintah High. Tonya coached the girls Jr. Jazz team basketball team to back to back championships. She was a fun coach.
Tonya loved her boys Kade, Kyle and Kobe and the girls that the boys have added to the family. She adored her two granddaughters Kandra Lynn and harper Mae.
Tonya loved challenging her boys to a three point shooting contest and she could hold her own---
The love of her life, Ronnie Rasmussen is the best thing that happened for Tonya. He has given hers many experiences and good times. Ronnie brought Tonya a bonus family of shannon, Casey and Michael and their families. Tonya loved these bonus grandkids and loved buying presents for them.
Ronnie and tonya went often to the mountains that Tonya loved so much. They took Kandra many times and taught her to rock hunt and horn hunt. The mountains were always good for Tonyas soul
A casual celebration of life will be held Saturday November 30, at Blackburn Rangely Mortuary followed by a burial in Vernal Memorial Park
