Tyrone Oaks

February 15, 1973 — January 19, 2025

Vernal

It is with great sadness but also great joy that our family announces the passing of our loved one, Tyrone Thomas Oaks. He will be missed by our family but we can’t help but celebrate the great reunion going on right now in Heaven with all those he knew and loved who are now surrounding him.

Tyrone was born in Vernal, Utah on February 15,1973 to Mareta Hatch Oaks and Thomas Oaks. He left this earthly life to return to his home in Heaven on Sunday, January 19, 2025.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa and three sons, Korban, Leland and Vince; his mother, Mareta Oaks; sister, Cindy Smith (Michael) Kileen, TX ; brothers Tim Oaks (Elsie), Thomas Bird (Juanita) and Travis Oaks; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his infant son, Jack. Tyrone was diagnosed with bone cancer a few years ago, but until the last few months didn’t let that stop him from living life. He will always be remembered for his willingness to help his aging grandma and grandpa Hatch when they were no longer able to do the heavy lifting. Even with a heavy, awkward leg brace, he continued to assist his aunt Sandra with yard work and irrigation systems until he could no longer walk.

Tyrone loved the mountains, fishing, camping and hiking. That may be because he spent so many days as a youngster camping and fishing in the mountains with his grandma and grandpa Hatch and his many cousins. They all came home so tired and dirty, but they loved every minute of that time together.

Tyrone worked for many years at the Red Canyon Lodge in Flaming Gorge. He cooked, cleaned, repaired, replaced, and did whatever was ask of him to help maintain the equipment, buildings and grounds. In other words, he was like his grandpa Hatch - a jack of all trades do it your selfer. He never became rich in material wealth but was rich in the things that matter in life, his family being the main attraction. Although he might have gotten angry with them, he loved them dearly and continues to love them, even though they can no longer see and talk with him directly.

His family will miss him, but we look forward to seeing him again someday for we know that this life on earth is but a short portion of our eternal existence. May God bless our journey
