Dec. 11, 1923 - July 22, 2016 Virginia Peterson, Hacking, Clayton passed away at age 92 on July 22, 2016 at the Uintah Care Center. She was born Dec. 11, 1923 to Oral Peterson and Sarah Ann Dudley Peterson in Jensen, Ut. She was the last of five children to return to her Heavenly Father. Virginia married Junuis Paul Hacking Feb. 22, 1944 in Lapoint Ut. Virginia became the step mother to David Rodger Hacking and Carma Rae Hacking. Junuis and Virginia had two beautiful baby daughters, both died soon after birth. They later divorced. Virginia then married, Gerald Zade Clayton on March 17, 1961 in Grand Junction, Co. They adopted a darling baby boy, Zade Oral Clayton. Virginia was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She grew up on a farm and learned to work at a young age. Her Father passed away when she was 15 years old. She has been employed as a house keeper, waitress, secretary and she worked at Fashion Cleaners for many years. After her husband, Jerry Clayton, died, she owned and managed the Hot Oil Business. Virginia had many hobbies, including working with people and bowling. She enjoyed beautiful flowers. She bowled for 40 years. She kept score for different leagues. She entered many national bowling tournaments in many states and won trophies, pins, and awards. She held the offices of secretary and treasurer and she belonged to the 600 Club since 1965. Virginia has been a chartered member of the American Legion Auxiliary for 66 years. She was second Vice President and served as Unit President and District Secretary, which she was for 10 years. She was also Girls State Chairman for many years. Virginia was the treasure of the Vernal Ladies Elks, where she helped with projects, dinners and families at Christmas time. She was also involved with the Shriners Unit. She was secretary for many years and always helped with the Shriners barbecue. Virginia is survived by Son,Roger (Laura) Hacking and family,Daughter Carma Rae Fereday's family. Grandsons, Garick Clayton and Farst Clayton. Sister-in-law, Lola Peterson and many nieces and nephews. Also a very special person, Kenneth LaBeau, who was like a son to her, caring for her during all her sickness and hard times and heart aches, and her happy days. The family says Thank you Beau! Proceeding Virginia in death , Parents, Husband, Daughters, Janet and Julia Hacking and Carma Rae Fereday, Son, Zade Clayton, Grandson, Kelton Clayton, Siblings, Ora (Dee) Curfew, Blake (Ila) Peterson, Eloise (Delbert) Horrocks and Richard Peterson. Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 @ 11:00 A.M. at Blackburn Vernal Mortuary. Friends and Family may call Tuesday evening from 6-8 and then on Wednesday from 9:30-10:45 prior to services. Burial will be in Vernal Memorial Park, under the direction of Thomson-Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
