Wayne Thomas Byers

Wayne passed away at his home in Vernal, Utah under the loving care of his wife Shellie on Friday, 5 September 2015. He was born on 2 August 1962, in Pocatello, Idaho, the son of Thomas Quentin and Martha Ann Byers and is survived by his wife Shellie and her two sons Chester and Travis Morey, his former wife, Monica Perrero, and their two daughters Felicia Byers Discoe and Jimmie, Britney Ann Byers, his parents Tom and Martha Byers, sisters Nicki Miller and Chad, Julie Salazar and Bobby, and Denise Fullmer and Brad, his two brothers Tim and Bryce Byers and wife Dani, by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, ten nephews and ten nieces and twenty eight second generation nephews and nieces. Wayne attended schools in Pocatello, Helena, Missoula, Yakima and Cheney, Washington where he graduated from high school. He spent some time after high school working in the Vernal area and then received an associate degree in electrical engineering. He was a baker and provided bake goods to restaurants in the Spokane area for several years while working on his engineering degree. He also owned and operated several coffee shops in the Salt Lake area for a number of years and later worked for Pella Windows. In his last six years in Vernal he drove truck in the oil fields. He had a love for his family and enjoyed family activities, reunions and time at the lake cabin which he called paradise, and sports where he excelled in football and pole vaulting, and enjoyed the outdoors where he spent his free time fishing, hunting, hiking, skiing, camping and water skiing. He also enjoyed music and was an accomplished drummer and played in many bands through his life. A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 19th, at 11 am, at the Hillcrest chapel, in Orem, Utah, located at the corner of 800E 1000 S, with President Bryce Byers (brother) officiating and conducting. On Sunday, the 20th of September, at 3 pm, there will be a graveside service held at the Maeser cemetery in Vernal, Utah. Condolences will be accepted by Shellie Byers; 3299 West; Vernal, Utah 84078
