William Kurtz

William Henry Kurtz passed away on April 5, 2025 in Vernal, Utah. He was born July 5, 1957 in Vernal to Wilson and Lynetta Kurtz in Vernal, Utah. William was raised in Vernal where he graduated from Uintah High School. He was baptized in the First Baptist Church of Vernal.

He married Kathryn A. Frye on October 23, 1992. William owned a local sanitation business for 29 years. He loved fishing with his family and being in the mountains. His favorite memories were being with his family, eating food and enjoying the company. William could fix anything; he loved working on and collecting old John Deer tractors.

He is survived by his wife Kathy, children; Leslie Kurtz, Wesley Kurtz, Ben (Nicole) Kurtz, stepson; Terry Jr. (Jessica) Schaffner, 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents Lynetta and Wilson Kurtz, sister Margie Gardner, brothers Danny Kurtz, and Devere Kurtz, stepdaughter Samantha Schaffner.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, April 10th 2025 at 11 am at the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary, with viewings held Wednesday, from 6-8 pm and 1 hour prior all at the Mortuary.
